The phone was invented in the US by Alexander Graham Bell
Bell loved to be with young people and we had the chance to know one of his young friends.
Aimée de Heeren was 19 when she met Bell, 83 when she met the editor of ths website
and over a 100 when she initiated the VB Whitepages project.

1959 Vietnam war begins, Telecom infrastructiur is destroyed. US tropps arrive.

1964 International dialing codes issued
to make it possible to place international calls without Operator assistance.
Vietnam becomes part of the World Telecom Zone 8 (North Asia).
In a ITU conference in Geneva is decides to attribute the country code +84

1969 US troops withdraw from Vietnam. Death of Ho Chi Minh.

During the 1960s war destroyed most of the Vietnam Telecom Equipment.

1976 Declaration of the Republic of Vietnam.

1992 A new constitution is adopted allowing more economic freedom.

2006 may establishment of Etisalat Afghanistan after sucessfully bidding
